Australia enters ODI World Cup finals for 8th time
It’s India vs Australia that are going to fight it out for the coveted mega trophy. The World Cup 2023 is in its final stages as India and Australia are the two teams that remain in the competition. The second semifinal between Australia and South Africa was nothing less than a thriller.
Batting first South Africa fumbled big time in the opening overs. SA was reduced to 24/4 in quick time. However, the partnership between Klaasen and Miller gained back the momentum. They strived hard to score runs. Though Klaasen fell after scoring 47 in quick time, Miller continued his form. He scored a century in the semifinal but fell right away after that. As a result, SA scored 212 runs and was all out.
Chasing a modest total on a tricky pitch, Australia went all guns blazing in the first powerplay. In the first 10 overs, Australia scored 74 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. This set the course for the chase. SA, however, were relentless and were in the chase with timely wickets.
However, Australia kept their cool and thronged into the finals for the eighth time in Men’s ODI World Cups.
