India march to finals
After 12 years, India has marched into the finals. India entered the finals of the 2023 ODI World Cup. In the Semifinal clash, India and New Zealand locked horns and for the first time, India was tested in the tournament. Batting first, India made a massive total of 397. Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer helped the cause with brilliant centuries. Rohit Sharma provided a brilliant platform. KL Rahul scored a brisk rate to up the score for the team.
Chasing a mammoth total, New Zealand started well. In the first five overs, NZ scored 30 runs. Then Rohit Sharma introduced Shami which resulted in an immediate wicket. In his next over, Shami removed the other opener too. However, the partnership between Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell changed things. New Zealand built a beautiful partnership and the partnership started to threaten the Indian side.
There were worried faces all over and then Shami was introduced into the attack. He removed Williamson and Latham in the same over. Since then, it was all a mere formality. Shami picked seven wickets overall.
