King Kohli has reached the 50 ODI Centuries mark and it is one of its kind of feat. He surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s 49 ODI Centuries record. The Master Sachin Tendulkar who was present at the stadium when the iconic thing happened, reacted within minutes.
He posted on social media, “The first time I met you in the Indian dressing room, you were pranked by other teammates into touching my feet. I couldn’t stop laughing that day. But soon, you touched my heart with your passion and skill. I am so happy that that young boy has grown into a ‘Virat’ player. I couldn’t be happier that an Indian broke my record. And to do it on the biggest stage – in the World Cup Semi-final – and at my home ground is the icing on the cake.”
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also reacted. He posted, “Today, @imVkohli has not just scored his 50th ODI century but has also exemplified the spirit of excellence and perseverance that defines the best of sportsmanship. This remarkable milestone is a testament to his enduring dedication and exceptional talent. I extend heartfelt congratulations to him. May he continue setting a benchmark for future generations.”
