Deepavali is a festival that is always celebrated with much enthusiasm irrespective of age. Deepavali is celebrated not only in India but also in other countries as well. The United States has recently made it an official holiday for Diwali. NRIs living, especially in the US, have celebrated Diwali in a grand style.

For Deepavali, many organizations have planned grand celebrations for the NRIs.

As part of this, Diwali celebrations were held in a grand style at the Sri Swami Narayan (Akshara Dham) temple built in Houston, Texas. On Monday (November 13), NRIs had a great time lighting firecrackers in the temple premises. They enjoyed the festival nothing short of how they could do it in India.

On the occasion of Diwali, ‘Annakoot’ was arranged for Swami on Tuesday (November 14th). Pastries, sweets, and vegetarian meals were cooked and offered to Swami. After that, Annadanam was organized and food was served to the devotees.
