ED serves notices to Prakash Raj in Ponzi scheme probe
The Enforcement Directorate has served notices to actor and politician Prakash Raj in the Pranav Jewellers Ponzi Scheme scam. Going into the details, Pranav Jewellers allegedly collected a mammoth Rs. 100 crore from the public in the name of gold investment and reportedly failed to fulfill the commitment. The Economic Offices Wing filed an FIR against the Pranav Jewellers after they conducted a search operation.
The officials are said to have recovered unaccounted cash worth Rs 23.70 lakh and 11.60 kg of gold. Now, Prakash Raj has received the summons as well. He has been the brand ambassador of Pranav Jewellers.
The ED summoned the actor on November 20th after the searches at properties linked to Tiruchirapalli-based Pranav Jewellers. As a part of the investigation, the ED asked Prakash Raj to appear at the Federal Agency in Chennai on December 5th.
