Virat Kohli to miss Mohali T20I due to personal reasons
After more than a year, Team India’s seasoned cricketer Virat Kohli has been picked to play the five-match T20I series against Afghanistan in India and according to the latest update, Virat Kohli is going to miss the series opener that will be played in Mohali today. He will be out of the game due to personal reasons.
Afghanistan on the other hand will miss the services of legspinner Rashid Khan who has been ruled of the entire series. Rashid Khan underwent back surgery recently and is yet to recover but is traveling with the team. This series is quite important in the prospects’ angle as it is the final leg of India’s preparations for the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Rohit Sharma will lead the side once again. Sanju Samson has returned to the side after a long gap. He recently made his maiden international ODI ton in South Africa. Rahul Dravid has responded recently to the speculations that Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan have undergone disciplinary actions. He said that Ishan Kishan requested for the break and Shreyas Iyer was not considered due to multiple batting options.
