Swachh Andhra – Swachh Diwas to Focus on E-Waste Collection

The Swachh Andhra – Swachh Diwas, scheduled for Saturday, April 19, will be organized under the theme of e-Check, aimed at addressing electronic waste management across the state. Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, P Narayana, announced that municipal staff will collect unused electronic wastes from homes and shops in all municipalities. This initiative is part of the ongoing Swachh Andhra programme, with active participation from Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to ensure its success.

As part of the program, 222 e-waste collection centers will be set up in municipalities throughout the state, providing employment opportunities for women. Minister Narayana emphasized the importance of creating awareness about the program to ensure cleaner surroundings. Key officials, including Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar and Swachh Andhra MD Anilkumar Reddy, also participated in the briefing.
