Indian Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant who is the captain of Delhi Capitals will be participating in the IPL auction for Delhi Capitals that is going to kickstart in a couple of hours in Dubai. Rishabh Pant didn’t participate in the IPL 2023 due to his unfortunate accident and has been in recovery mode. Pant’s accident was nearly fatal on New Year’s Eve last year.
A member from the Delhi Capitals ownership group has confirmed that Rishabh Pant will be participating in the IPL 2024 which should be played during the window next year and will also lead the side.
Coming to the auction, it is still not clear whether he will be raising the paddle at the auction table. This will be the first engagement of Pant after the accident in professional cricket. Along with Pant, coach Ricky Ponting will accompany him.
Meanwhile, a total of 332 players will come under the hammer in today’s auction.
