In a welcome move, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has started reinstating F-1 student visas that were recently cancelled, bringing relief to many Indian students affected by the issue.
Several students had their visas revoked due to minor reasons such as speeding tickets or small legal violations. Many of them challenged the cancellations through legal petitions and emergency court orders, which led to the reversal of some visa decisions.
Officials have indicated that more reinstatements are expected in the coming weeks. Immigration lawyers are advising students to be extremely cautious and avoid even minor infractions.
This development has renewed hope for thousands of Indian students currently pursuing their education in the US.
