Oori Peru Bhairavakona movie review and rating
Sundeep Kishan has been looking for a solid hit for many movies and he pinned high hopes on the movie Oori Peru Bhairavakona. The film which raised expectations with its promos was released today. Let us check out the review.
Story:
Basava (Sundeep Kishan) works as a stuntman in the movie. Under some circumstances, he turns into a thief and to escape from law, Basava along with his friend tries to escape and in the journey, they come across (Geetha) who has met with an accident. The three continue their journey and reach a place called Bhairavakona.
Upon reaching they experience some strange incidents. What are the strange things? What is this place called Bhairavakona? Who is Bhoomi (Varsha)? This forms the rest of the story.
Performances:
Sundeep Kishan does well in his role. He is usual in comedy and decent when it comes to emotions. Overall, it was a good attempt from him. Varsha Bollamma plays an important role. There is nothing to complain about or praise about her performance. The problem lies with her characterization. The love track wasn’t presented convincingly.
Kavya Thapar’s role has more energy and she does well. Viva Harsha, Vennela Kishore, and P Ravi Shankar get some crucial roles and they do well. The one-liners clicked well. The rest of the cast like Brahmaji, Duvvasi Mohan, and Jayaprakash are all right.
Technicalities:
Sekhar Chandra’s songs are good to hear and watch. However, the placement of the songs disturbs us. The background score is okay. The art department and the cinematography need special mention as their efforts are visible onscreen. The editing could have been a lot better, and so is the VFX.
Director VI Anand usually comes up with a different script and this time is no different. The concept is great but the execution falters. The film has its moments but the bad second half and especially the climax dilutes the experience. Had the thrills been handled a lot more effectively, the film could have been a lot more engaging.
Verdict:
Oori Peru Bhairavakona is not a bad film. As said, the film has its moments. The comedy worked here and there, the thrills worked here and there and the emotions worked here and there. That’s it. Oori Peru Bhairavakona is the best example of a great concept but middling execution.
