No New Law Needed: Switzerland Backs Euthanasia Capsule Use

The Swiss government has clarified that there is no need for a special law to regulate the use of the Sarco suicide capsule, a device designed to allow pain-free assisted death. Developed by Australian scientist Dr. Philip Nitschke, the 3D-printed capsule releases nitrogen gas, causing a quick and peaceful death when a button is pressed.

While the device has sparked debate over ethics and legality, the government stated that existing laws are sufficient to oversee such devices. Some view Sarco as a symbol of personal freedom, while others criticize it as promoting suicide.

The discussion is expected to continue as public opinion remains divided on the issue.
