A new version of the Aadhaar app is on the way, offering users a more secure and convenient way to share their Aadhaar details. Announced by Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at the Aadhaar Samvaad event in Delhi, the app will include a facial recognition feature, allowing users to verify their identity without sharing a physical Aadhaar card.
Instead of showing a hard copy, users can now scan a QR code and use their phone’s camera to authenticate their identity with a simple face scan. The app is currently being tested by a small group and will be available to the public soon after receiving feedback.
This new feature aims to make Aadhaar verification easier and safer for everyday activities like checking in at hotels or airports.
