Naa Saami Ranga movie review – Decent festive entertainer

Akkineni Nagarjuna has been out of form since few movies. He is adamant to give a grand comeback with the movie Naa Saami Ranga. The film is directed by newcomer Vijay Binni and let us check out the review of the movie.

Story: 

Kishtayya (Nagarjuna) is a loyal supporter of village head (Nassar). Kishtayya is in love with Varaalu (Ashika Ranganath) but he couldn’t marry her due to some circumstances. On the other hand, Varaalu’s marriage is fixed with Village head’s younger son Dasu (Shabbeer).

There is rivalry between Dasu and Kishtayya. He wants to harm Kishtayya and his brother Anji (Allari Naresh). What is the rivarly. There is also village festival tradition connected to the story. What happens to the Kishtayya’s love story forms the rest of it.

Performances: 

Nagarjuna is impressive in this village entertainer. His body language is superb. His performances in action sequences are quite nice. Overall, it is good to see Nagarjuna in Kishtayya’s role. Allari Naresh has got a superb characterisation. There is comedy and emotions involved in the character and he performs both of them with quite ease.

Ashika Ranganath looks good onscreen and the romantic track between Nagarjuna and Ashika was conceived quite well. Her performance is good as well. Raj Tarun, Mirnaa Menon, Ruksar Dhillon and others are okay in their respective roles. The others are just fine.

Technicalities: 

The story of Naa Saami Ranga is quite routine. The screenplay follows the routine template as well. However, the village atmosphere, action sequences made the film look different. The direction by Vijay Binni is good. He presented Naa Saami Ranga in a rich manner.

The cinematography of the film is superb. Editing is fine and the background score by MM Keeravani is one of the big assets of the movie. Production values are decent.

Analysis: 

Naa Saami Ranga could be your perfect Sankranthi entertainer, if you are okay with the routine template village drama.
