Indian Billionaires Lose Billions After Trump’s Tariff Announcements

Asia’s top billionaires, including India’s Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani, suffered major losses on “Black Monday” as Indian stock markets plummeted due to fears over the economic impact of US President Donald Trump’s tariff decisions. Adani’s wealth dropped by $4.26 billion, bringing his net worth to $70 billion, while Ambani lost $3.48 billion, leaving him with $83.4 billion.

Other major Indian figures affected included Savitri Jindal, Shiv Nadar, and Shapoor Mistry. The 30-share BSE Sensex saw a sharp decline of nearly 3%, wiping out trillions from the stock market.

Globally, billionaires like Elon Musk and Xiaomi’s Lei Jun also faced substantial losses, as the effects of the tariffs spread across markets worldwide
