Hyderabad Welcomes High-Tech Robot Firefighter

Hyderabad has rolled out its newest firefighter — not a human, but a high-tech, heat-defying robot. Developed by France-based Shark Robotics and brought in by Mumbai’s Shree Lalitha, this state-of-the-art machine is built to withstand extreme conditions, including temperatures up to 900°C.

Equipped with a 2,000-litre-per-minute water monitor, foam discharge for chemical fires, thermal vision cameras, and a 500-kg payload capacity, this robot is designed for high-risk rescues in environments unsafe for human firefighters. The Telangana government invested ₹1.5–1.6 crore in this advanced unit, making Hyderabad one of the few Indian cities with AI-powered fire response tech.
