The Telangana Health Department has issued a heatwave advisory with the growing temperatures in the state. Along with the Telangana, Andhra Pradesh is going to witness high temperatures in the coming five days. We have already seen more than 45 degrees Celsius temperatures in many areas in the Telugu States. Some areas have been close to 50 degrees as well. The coming days, April 29, 30, May 1, 2, and 3 are going to be extremely dangerous.
People have been advised to shield their heads using umbrellas, hats, or caps and also minimize outdoor activities, especially between 11 AM and 4 PM. Indian Meteorological Department has issued a yellow heat wave alert across 18 districts of Telangana.
The advisory urges people to prefer hydration by consuming water at regular intervals. Also, it recommends consuming vegetables and fruits that are rich in water content. People are advised to wear light, thin, and loose cotton clothes.
Medical attention should be sought if symptoms such as hot, dry, and reddened skin, severe headache, muscle weakness, nausea, vomiting, rapid heartbeat, or a body temperature equal to or exceeding 104° Fahrenheit are observed.
