Bullet train between Gujarat and New Delhi to commence soon

Gujarat is very soon going to get its second bullet train. The city of Ahmedabad is going to launch its second high speed railway project connecting New Delhi. The Railways has already finalized the Detailed Project Report where as per that the train will commence from Sabarmati station. A multi modal hub has been established there. This high-speed train could operate at a speed of 250 kmph on an elevated corridor and if it happens the distance between Ahmedabad to New Delhi could be covered in just 3.5 hours instead of the usual 12 hours. It is well known that the distance between these two cities is around 900 kms.

The proposed route will have select stations in the states Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Haryana before reaching New Delhi. The select stops include Himmatnagar, Udaipur, Bilwara, Chittorgarh, Ajmer, Kishangarh, Jaipur, Rewari, and Manesar.  The high-speed tracks will be aligned with the existing railway infrastructure. The National High Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRC) commenced the bidding process for the final alignment design in September 2020. Currently, the project is pending final approval from the central government.
