34-year-old Gabriel Attal becomes France’s next Prime Minister thus becoming the youngest Prime Minister and also the first Open-Gay man to serve the nation as the second-most powerful politician. Gabriel Attal previously served as the Minister of Education and National Youth since July 2023. During his tenure, Gabriel raised awareness of bullying in schools and also enacted a ban on the wearing of Abaya in French Public Schools.

Gabriel Attal replaces Elisabeth Borne, who resigned from her post on Monday. She served for 20 months. She stepped down along with the rest of the government. As a part of the cabinet reshuffle, French President Emmanuel Macron made the appointment of Gabriel Attal on Tuesday.

The president of the republic appointed Mr Gabriel Attal prime minister, and tasked him with forming a government,” said the official statement from the President.
