Delhi High Court Orders Patanjali to Remove ‘Sharbat Jihad’ Videos

The Delhi High Court has instructed Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali to immediately remove videos referring to Hamdard’s Rooh Afza as “Sharbat Jihad.” The court called the statements “indefensible” and a violation of communal harmony.

The controversy began when Ramdev’s promotional video for Patanjali’s Gulab Sharbat claimed that profits from Rooh Afza were used to fund mosques and madrasas. Hamdard filed a lawsuit, calling it a form of hate speech. Patanjali’s counsel agreed to remove the content and assured the court that no further such claims would be made. The next hearing is set for May 1.
