In a real-life “lost treasure” moment, Exequiel Hinojosa, a Chilean man, discovered his late father’s 60-year-old bank passbook while cleaning out his house. What he didn’t expect was that the passbook contained ₹1.4 lakh saved back in the 1960s—growing to $1.2 million with six decades of interest!
Though the bank had shut down, the passbook was stamped “State Guaranteed,” meaning the Chilean government would cover the payment. After a long legal battle, Exequiel successfully claimed the money, making him an overnight millionaire. “That money is our family’s,” he said, adding that they never even knew the passbook existed. Sometimes, treasure really is just waiting to be found!
