Story:

Malli (Suhas) is a member of the marriage band in Ambajipeta. He also has a saloon. He hails from a lower caste and falls in love with Lakshmi who is the sister of Venkat, one whom the entire village fears and respects.

Malli has a twin sister named Padma, who works as a teacher. The rest of the story is all about how their lives change when one thing comes over the other.

Performances:

Suhas comes up with another honest performance. He has given it all for this movie. He picks up a role that suits him well. Ambajipeta Marriage Band discusses the social inequality and caste equations in the village. His performance in the emotional and intense scenes is superb.

Lakshmi gets a cute and sweet role. She is decent in the romantic moments. It is good to watch. She has got a few emotional sequences as well and does well.

Sharanya Pradeep plays the sister role. Her role is powerful. She stands out in a couple of scenes. She does well too. Nithiin Prasanna plays the antagonist and he is introduced in a quite powerful way. His character starts on a strong note and later fizzles out. His character is very well written initially, though.

Jagadeesh Prathap Bhandari as the hero’s friend is quite effortless. The rest of the cast are fine.

Technicalities:

Sekhar Chandra does an average job as the music director. A couple of songs are decent and that’s it. The background music could have been more impactful. The cinematography is fine and so is the editing.

Ambajipeta Marriage Band is made on a low budget and it is evident onscreen. They managed well though. The writing is strong at points, though routine overall. The subject is tried and tested many times but the director comes up with an impactful work. The director made sure there were decent elements throughout the film.

Analysis:

Ambajipeta Marriage Band is a routine film that discusses caste equations and societal inequalities. It is a sincere and honest attempt from the young team. But on the other hand, the routine and patchy narration come as a hindrance.
