Telangana Ex-Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is leaving the Tuglaq Road official residence in New Delhi. This is nearly two decades since he had to vacate the official residence. It is well known that KCR has recently lost assembly elections to Congress in Telangana.

23, Tuglaq Road residence is the official residence he was allotted to in 2004 for the first time after KCR won as an MP from Karimnagar. He worked as Minister of Labour in Manmohan Singh’s cabinet. At that time, in his capacity as a Union Minister, KCR was allotted a Type 8 quarter on Tuglaq Road.

Though KCR resigned as MP in 2006, he won the by-elections and was allotted the same house. He was elected as MP from Mahabubnagar and was allotted the same residence again.

KCR became the Chief Minister in 2014. As the Central Government allocates official residence to Chief Ministers in New Delhi, KCR preferred his 23, Tuglaq Road residence as his official one. He became Chief Minister for the second time in 2018 and continued in the same house.

Finally, after a defeat this time, KCR had to leave the Tuqlaq residence and the official arrangements were being made.
