The attack, which occurred on April 22, claimed the lives of 25 tourists and a local Kashmiri. Aamir, visibly affected by the senseless killings, explained that he was “in no state” to attend the event. He mentioned he would watch the film at a later time in the week. The re-release of the cult classic was scheduled to mark its return to cinemas across India.
