It is very well known that the Tamil top actor Thalapathy Vijay announced a political party Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). Vijay has already revealed that he will not be contesting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections nor his party and also given clarity that he would not be supporting any party for the elections.
After announcing his party, Vijay has started his groundwork. He is meeting leaders and planning to strengthen the party for the next assembly elections. Vijay after announcing his party has responded first time as a politician. He shared his views on the recently announced Citizen Amendment Act.
The Citizenship Amendment Act fast-tracks the process for citizenship for non-Muslim immigrants who came to India from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan before 2014. In an official statement, Vijay stated that it is not acceptable to implement the act in a country where all religions live in harmony. Also, he requested the Tamil Nadu government not to implement it.
