IPL 2024: Gujarat just falls short of the line
Those who watched the Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals match that happened a few hours ago were quite lucky as they witnessed nothing short of a thriller. The high-scoring match turned out to be a nail-biting thriller. Batting first, Delhi Capitals made a superb 224 runs thanks to the late blitz by Rishabh Pant and Tristan Stubbs. Earlier, Axar Patel stabilized the innings by scoring 66 runs off 43 balls.
Pant scored 88 in just 43 balls and Stubbs made a quick-fire 26 in just 7 balls. GT bowler Mohit Sharma went for 73 runs in 4 overs, his most expensive spell.
Chasing 225, Gujarat lost captain Gill very early. However, Saha and Sai Sudharsan continued to score runs at a quick rate. In particular, Sudharsan was impressive. The wickets of Saha, Azmatullah, and Sudharsan fell in quick succession.
Though wickets are tumbling from one side, David Miller scored 55 of just 23 balls and kept the scoreboard ticking. While the match seemed out of hand, Rashid Khan and Sai Kishore scored boundaries at will. With 11 required of 2 balls, Rashid scored a six and with 5 of 1 ball, he failed to connect resulting in the Delhi Capitals win.
