Akash Deep picks three wickets in first innings

India has grabbed the first session of the fourth test in style. Having won the toss, England had no qualms in electing to bat first. Actually, it is a very good toss to win. Having batted sensibly, England could have bossed the game early. However, their Bazball approach hasn’t yielded good results in this test as well.

It’s lunch in the Ranchi test at the moment and India are clear favorite. They have taken early advantage. The debutante Akash Deep is particularly impressive. He has sent the top-order packing. At the stroke of lunch, India is currently at 112 but lost half the wickets. England might have scored at a healthy rate of 4.63 but losing five wickets in the first session is not good news.

Ashwin and Jadeja picked a wicket each. With half of the side in the hut, India look to wrap things up quickly and England try to push the score near to 250. It is going to be an exciting first day in the Ranchi test.
