India in a strong position in Rajkot test
Despite the stutters in the first hour of the play, India stood in a strong position on day 1 of the Rajkot test. India was at 33/3 at one stage when Rohit and Jadeja started a partnership. They mixed caution with aggression and batted for more than 2 sessions. A partnership of 204 runs steadied the innings. Rohit scored 131 runs and fell for a short ball ploy.
The debutante Sarfaraz Khan batted with intent and scored 62 runs in a quick time. He was run out when trying to give Jadeja a century run and he eventually got the next ball. Ravindra Jadeja is unbeaten at the end of the day’s play with nightwatchman Kuldeep Yadav accompanying him. At the end of day 1, India is at 326/5.
With the condition of the pitch, India will look to post at least more than 400 runs. Still, Dhruv Jurel is yet to come to batting followed by tail-enders. Jadeja holds the key on day 2. Mark Wood is the pick of England’s bowlers where he picked three wickets.
