In one of the close contests of the T20I format, India vs Afghanistan’s third match played at Bengaluru was done only after the two sides played two super overs. India batted first and collapsed immediately. The team was down with four wickets for just 22 runs. Then Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh stitched a partnership. The team was only 60+ by the end of 10 overs but then Rinku and Rohit changed their gears to the fighter mode.

Rohit Sharma made a record 5th T20 ton which is the highest so far. Rinku Singh is equally superb by scoring 63 runs. India as a result made a huge 212 runs by the end of 20 overs. Chasing a mammoth total, Afghanistan got a quick start. The first wicket fell in the 11th over and the top 3 of Afghanistan scored half centuries. By the end of 20 overs, Afghanistan too made 212 runs.

In the first super over, Afghanistan made 16 runs and India too made 16 runs, thanks to the twin sixes by Rohit Sharma. However, India couldn’t cross the line. In the second super over, Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh came to bat. Rohit scored a six and a four. Chasing 12 runs, Afghanistan could only score 1 and lost two wickets.
