Story:

Hanumanthu (Teja Sajja) is a small-time thief who lives in a fictional village called Anjanadri with his sister (Varalakshmi Sarath Kumar). He falls for Meenakshi (Amritha Iyer). On one unfortunate day, Meenakshi falls in grave danger and to save her Hanumanthu stumbles upon a special power.

Performances:

Teja Sajja is impressive in the role of Hanumanthu. He has got the scope of variations in this movie. Be it comedy, drama, or action, Teja has done it all with ease and blended into them quite smoothly.

Varalakshmi Sharat Kumar is equally impressive as the hero’s sister. It is refreshing to see her in a positive character and she does well. There is a heroic moment for her in the second half which will give goosebumps. Amritha Iyer is good as the love interest of the hero. She gives a neat performance.

Vinai Rai is superb in the villain role. His looks suited perfectly and his role is strong. Satya and Getup Srinu took care of the comedy department and it works fine. The rest all are okay.

Technicalities:

Technically, Hanu-Man is super strong. The VFX department should get the first mention. With a budget of around Rs. 20-25 Crores what we see on-screen is unbelievable. We should commend the VFX department and the director. The background music by Gowri Hari is so impressive. It elevates the sequences well. The music is well-composed too. The cinematography work is top-notch. The editing is smooth except for a few drag scenes in the middle. The production values will blow your mind.

Firstly, the basic story by Prashant Varma is not new. It is a beaten-to-death formula. What makes Hanu-Man stand out is the way the story has been blended with the superhero powers and the way Lord Hanuman has been induced into it. The screenplay by him is without any complaints. From time to time, heroic moments make the audience impressed with the movie.
