Finally, the expected has happened. Former Cricketer Ambati Rayudu who is closely associated with the political activities in Guntur district has finally joined the ruling party YSRCP. The party chief, Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy invited Rayudu by garlanding with party shawl. Deputy CM Narayana Swamy and MP Peddireddy Mithun Reddy were present as well.

It is well known that Ambati Rayudu announced his retirement from professional cricket after Indian Premier League 2023. In June, he announced the decision to join politics.

He toured the Guntur district and the cricketer said that he is doing so to understand the public pulse and after analyzing everything, he will announce his future course of action. It is said that YS Jagan is planning to field Ambati Rayudu from a Parliament constituency.
