Aadikeshava movie review and rating

Young mega hero Vaisshnav Tej who made a sensational debut with Uppena hasn’t scored another hit after that. His latest movie Aadikeshava was released today. Sree Leela who is on top form played the female lead. Srikanth N Reddy makes his directorial debut with this movie.

Story:

Balu (Vaisshnav Tej) is a happy-go-lucky guy who initially has no job at all. However, thanks to Chitra (Vaisshnav Tej) he lands a high-paying job at Earthy Cosmetics. Chitra eventually falls for him.

Balu needs to go to Brahmasamudram where his happy life gets a huge twist. He needs to face Jangareddy there. Why did he go to that village in the first place? and what happens eventually is the crux of the story.

Performances:

Vaisshnav Tej who has shown a lot of promise with Uppena, hasn’t got any interesting role after that. Coming to Aadikeshava, it’s a typical youngster role for him. In the first half, Vaisshnav Tej is impressive as a reckless youngster. He is okay in that part. Coming to the action block, he tries too hard and it is evident. Vaisshnav Tej does hard work when it comes to dances.

Sree Leela looks good on screen. She dances well. There is nothing new to say in terms of her dancing capabilities. In terms of the role, there is nothing new to say.

Joju George, the national award-winning actor makes his Telugu debut with this movie but it is a wasted opportunity. The role has nothing memorable of his capability. Jayaprakash is Okay. Sudarshan tried to bring some laughs. Sadah was seen in a non-sync role. The others are just fine.

Technicalities:

GV Prakash Kumar’s music is surprisingly not very impressive. None of the songs are good. The background music is better when compared to songs. Dudley’s cinematography is fine. The editing is good, the runtime is the only saving grace of this bland commercial entertainer.

The writing is routine to the core. We have seen hundreds of commercial potboilers with this plot. The direction is way behind average. The production values are decent.

Analysis:

Firstly, the plot is quite outdated. The story gives a routine feel throughout. The taking is so dull. Crisp runtime and the film toward the end are the very few plus points of this routine commercial potboiler.

Rating: 2/5
