The general elections in the Telugu States have been completed. In Andhra Pradesh, the elections for the Parliament and Assembly constituencies have been concluded. Apart from a few hayward incidents, almost all the election process went smoothly. A few of the YCP candidates tried to create ruckus but it was superbly handled by the TDP and YCP activists.

There has been a huge anti-incumbency in Andhra Pradesh and it is evident in the voter turnout percentage. The voting percentage has increased a lot when compared to the 2019 elections. A steep increase in the voter percentage will suggest anti-incumbency.

For example, in the 2014 general elections, the voting percentage for Vijayawada city, NTR district was around 77 percent and it increased to 79 percent in the 2019 elections where people chose YSRCP ahead of TDP. Similarly, in the current elections, the voter turnout in the city has turned out to be 83 percent. So, yet again, an increase in voter turnout suggests that the voters are clearly against the current government. We have to wait and see for the election results.
