David Warner to retire after the T20 World Cup

Australia’s dashing opening batsman David Warner has today confirmed that he has played his last international match in Australia. After the completion of the T20 series against West Indies, David Warner has stated that he was well and truly done.

Although West Indies won the third T20I, Australia claimed the series 2-1. After the match, David confirmed the news at the presentation. He said, “Good to see the boys play. I’ve got a lot of time off after the next series in New Zealand before the IPL and then to get ready for the T20 World Cup. Time to spend some quality time with my kids and just be home.”

He added, “I’m well and truly done. It’s time for the youngsters to step up and do the job.” David Warner earlier in the series hinted that the upcoming T20 World Cup is the last for him in the Australian colors. It is well known that David Warner, aged 37, played his last test match for the country at Sydney.
