Goda Devi Kalyanam at SDP SSV Temple

We have seen different kinds of Kalyanams like Sitaramakalyanam, Srinivasa Kalyanam are held grandly. Compared to them ‘Goda Ranganathula’s Kalyanam’ has a special feature. Goda Devi, being a human maiden, married Ranganatha, who was an idol.

This Goda Devi Kalyanam, which is performed with great devotion, was recently held in America as well. Along with Bhogi celebrations, ‘Goda Devi Kalyanam’ was organized. Sankranti celebrations have started at Sri Shiva Vishnu Temple (SDP SSV) in New Jersey.

In the SDP SSV, the Bhogi ceremony was grandly performed in the presence of the temple priestesses and the organizers in the presence of the devotees who gathered in large numbers. Worshiped Sai Baba and distributed prasad to the devotees. And as a part of this, Godadevi Kalyanam was also performed in SDP SSV temple. Women devotees performed this program with devotion. Women participated in this program on a large scale and performed fasting and worshiped goddess.
